Between a night out out in Newcastle/Durham/Sunderland, Durham is by far the 'nicer' option. Less rowdy by far. It's the chosen location of all my over-30 work colleagues. Underrated.

Durham is is godd night out but has always been short of accomodation. You could always stay in Newcastle and get the train.Hexham is another option.

You might need to be creative with the booking. Large groups of males clearly on a stag do are generaliy not popular.

No idea for accomodation - always stay in the Prem Inn (City Center) which is nice but not cheap.There is a nice india called the Spice Lounge behind the church if you need suggestions for food.
